Pre-School Department

Our Pre-school department is the bedrock of the CJ experience, catering to children from as young as 3 months in our Creche to 5 years in Kindergarten 2. We believe that the first five years of a child's life are crucial for brain development, and our curriculum is tailored to maximize this potential.

We employ the Montessori Method, which emphasizes independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child’s natural psychological, physical, and social development. In our classrooms, you will find child-sized furniture and specialized learning materials that encourage tactile learning. Children are taught practical life exercises—such as pouring, buttoning, and sorting—which develop fine motor skills and concentration. Sensorial activities refine their senses, while early language and math modules introduce them to phonics and numeracy in a fun, non-pressured environment.

Primary Department (GES)

The Primary Department marks the transition to formal schooling while maintaining the interactive spirit of our preschool. Running from Class 1 to Class 6, we strictly adhere to the Ghana Education Service (GES) curriculum but deliver it with our unique 'CJ Flair'. This means smaller class sizes for better teacher-student ratios and the integration of technology in every subject.

Our focus is on building strong literacy and numeracy skills. We have a dedicated reading program to ensure every child becomes a fluent reader by Class 3. Science is taught not just from textbooks but through experiments in our labs. We also place a heavy emphasis on French and Ghanaian languages (Twi/Ga) to ensure cultural rootedness. Computer literacy is mandatory, preparing them for a digital world.

Key Focus Areas: Numeracy, English Literacy, Integrated Science, Citizenship Education, Creative Arts, and Information & Communication Technology (ICT).

Cambridge Department

For parents seeking an international edge, our Cambridge Department at Tantra Hills offers the world-class Cambridge Primary curriculum. This pathway is distinct from the GES system and is designed for students who may wish to pursue secondary education abroad or in international schools in Ghana.

The curriculum is inquiry-based, encouraging students to ask "why" and "how" rather than just memorizing facts. Global Perspectives is a flagship subject here, where students research global issues like climate change, bringing local solutions to global problems. Cambridge Mathematics focuses on deep conceptual understanding, while Cambridge Science emphasizes the scientific method of hypothesis and experimentation. Assessments are rigorous, using Cambridge Progression Tests to track international benchmarking.

JHS 1 - JHS 3

Junior High Department

The Junior High School (JHS) is the finishing school of our basic education program. It spans JHS 1 to JHS 3 and is rigorously focused on preparing students for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). However, at CJ Schools, we believe JHS is also about character formation and career guidance.

Students are introduced to specialized subjects like Pre-Technical Skills and Career Technology, giving them vocational exposure. Our science labs are fully equipped for physics, biology, and chemistry practicals. We also run an intensive "BECE Clinic" for final year students, involving extra tuition, mock exams, and psychological preparation. Beyond academics, JHS students take on leadership roles as school prefects, learning governance and responsibility.

Subjects & Skills: Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies, Religious & Moral Education (RME), French, Ghanaian Language, and Basic Design & Technology (BDT).
